Talia just loves lounging and playing in her new throne. As soon as she climbs in she just lays back to take a moment with her thoughts. Being a baby is tough work, and everybody deserves a place of their own to relax.
Talia loves the new patio chairs given to her by Grandma and Grandpa, and as soon as she learns how to get out of them without face planting onto the ground, I am sure they will be even more fun!
With most of Talia's hair centering around the middle of her head, many people have suggested I start styling her hair in a mohawk, so here goes. Cute as always!
Talia took her first trip to the zoo a few weeks ago and saw lots of animals. Here she is viewing lizards and snakes with Dad, mapping out where to go next with the zoo brochure, taking a much needed water break, and bouncing on Daddy's knee. Good times!
Okay, so the wagon doesn't really belong to Talia, but you would have thought it did. Cousins Kara and Alex were polite enough to take turns sharing their wagon while Talia rode around like the queen of the backyard, refusing to get out. She occasionally smiled and waved to her people as she passed by on her MANY trips around the yard (sorry for the track left in your grass nouna and nounos). Alex even took turns pulling her majesty and Kara a few times to relieve the adults for a minute. Hey, I thought it was Mother's Day, not Talia's Day. Now I understand why my mother always said "Every day is kid's day!"
Christ got an autograph from Andre Dawson (former Cub, Hall of Famer, I guess) and Talia joined in for the photo shoot. Here goes your college tuition, Talia. Hopefully Dad's collection will bring in a buck or two some day. In the meantime, no more toys for you. We need more space for Dad's stuff!
Elinor and Evelyn showed up to the party dressed in the cutest matching dresses! Elinor had a blast and Evelyn just took it all in. She seems to be saying "Hey, when do I get a party?" Do you think big cheeks run in the family?
We cannot believe Talia is One already! Where has the time gone? She has learned so much in this first year with so much more to see and do. We are so excited to watch her grow and learn every day!
Okay, so I guess some guests were displeased that there was not enough frosting to make a real mess, but Talia enjoyed herself and that is all that matters. Maybe she prefers to be neat. She is my child, afterall!
Talia had a blast at her birthday party catching up with old friends and relatives. The play area was a big hit. Talia felt a little stressed trying to make sure she gave all of her guests equal attention, but she did her best. Here she is having a deep conversation with Taylor and spying on her cousins in the cube.
We are now learning to adjust with two kids in tow and trying to keep up with life at the same time. Blogging often gets left behind, but I will try to stay on top of it to update all of you who cannot be with us day to day. Lucky for you, that means you still may be able to maintain some of your sanity. As for Christ and I, only time will tell!
